Spin is a 16-page health-promotion comic I wrote and drew for the Ministry of Youth Affairs and the Mental Health Foundation in 1998. It was initially serialised in Tearaway Magazine and then published as a 20-pg booklet and distributed to schools, doctors, etc.

Part of the National Youth Suicide Prevention Strategy, Spin tells the story of two young people and how they deal with emotional distress. On the inside back cover it gives some advice and information for young people and gives the toll-free number for Youthline telephone counselling.

Spin was developed in consultation with a range of health professionals, the Centre for Youth Health and three advisory groups of young people.

It is available free from the Ministry of Youth Affairs.
